I Went Shopping at American Apparel.

I got this leotard:

And these sparkly tights:

I think I should just own a store already. It'd probably save me a lot of money. And no, that's not me in the photos. I figured posting n00dz on the internet probably wasn't the best way to get my blog publicity. Next time I'm getting some stockings for my garter belt, they look like they have pretty decent quality ones there.

Some Photos From Winter

Late Nights

Hanukkah

Timbre

Boxing Day

I'm no professional photographer by any means, this is just for fun. I think things like this stop making you happy when they start becoming more about method and mechanics rather than just expressing how you feel.

Valentine's Night Here I Come...

I wanted to make this Valentine's Day special, so instead of just the usual lingerie I decided to get dress for the occasion. I'm still getting the lingerie too, don't worry.

The top looks better with my boobs in it, but I felt stupid taking a photo of myself just for this. How much more perfect for a date could this dress be? I have a pair of black velvet wedges that would look lovely with this.

Just 344 Days Until The Mayan Apocalypse

Well it's the end of yet another year. It's funny, because I remember being at Pretty Lights in the Congress Theater last New Years and thinking, "wow, it's really 2011 already?" but for the past couple months now all I've been thinking is, "wow, it's really not 2012 yet?". This year feels like it was a long time coming.

I guess a brief recap is in order. I'll start with my top 3 favorite Christmas presents.

The first one is this abso fucking lutely beautiful Gretsch bass my Dad fixed up for me. It's even better than getting a brand new one because it's so custom! It's short scale (perfect for my tiny hands), super lightweight, but not too fragile either.

I've been leaving it at Matt's apartment because I don't really have any amps.

Don't you just love how the solid black body transitions to a greenish-gray wood finish, and then gets complimented by a pearly white pick guard?

My second favorite present was this antique ashtray Matt got for me. I'd been eyeing it at this antique store for months and one day it was gone, little did I know, he had snatched it up for me :)

The inside looks like a leaf or something, I love that color green.

But then if you flip it over it looks like a boat or something. I'm not sure what significance of the etching on the bottom is, but it makes it seem special, doesn't it?

My third one I've picked because of function, not fashion. They're pretty fucking hideous, but these boots can be worn in -25 degree weather. I can't wait to wear these to class now. Bring it on, Chicago winter. Yeah I didn't even bother taking a picture of these with my nice camera because they're really nothing to look at.

For New Years, I was going to go with Matt to Grant Park and go to the firework show/party that's held there every year. But plans fell through for one reason (or another...) and we just ended up going to a friend's party. One kid showed up with literally a small mountain of Cocaine and I don't think I went to bed until 7am. Then I woke up at 9. Fun right?

I'm excited to start a fresh new year and to go back to school. How generic of a conclusion right? Peace out

That Time I Pulled an Emma Watson

A couple days ago, I got to be a hair model for the Vidal Sassoon in Chicago. The photo above is a doodle of the haircut I was given; the classic Five Point cut created by Vidal in the 60s. It's a geometric cut that revolutionized the way hairdressers looked at shaping hair. I would take a picture of my own hair, but I don't feel like taking a photo in this shitty apartment within an arms-length of my head would really do this haircut proper justice.

The greatest part about the whole thing? I got Mark Hayes to cut my hair. Mark Hayes, the international creative director at Vidal Sassoon (in London bitches!) cut my hair not only for free, but paid me to let him do it! He was so charming and really a brilliant hairdresser.

I'm so glad I finally got my hair cut short too. I've been wanting to for the longest time, but I wasn't sure exactly what style I wanted and I wasn't sure where to go to get it done. But this was the push I needed. I've got to say, I absolutely love it. Vidal's "wash and wear" philosophy definitely applies here. I haven't had to take a blow dryer to my hair once since I've had this hair cut, it really styles itself. You might think that this kind of cut isn't very wearable outside of a runway, but I've figured out a few ways to style it that make it much more every day.

Here's how I'm wearing it tonight:
It's kind of fun slicking it back like that, it makes me feel like a boy. Is that weird?
